Castello di Sasso Corbaro. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Castello di Sasso Corbaro dates back to the 1400s. Amazingly, it was built in just 6 months and completed in 1479. The views from the castle are incredible as you look over the alps more than 200 meters above the town.

This beautiful exit starts towards Bellinzona in Sasso Corbaro and passes via the magnificent castle of Castello di Sasso Corbaro, It has even been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since the year 2000. The path then climbs quite steeply to the top of Motto della Croce. It is located at an altitude of 1254 meters and is considered the mountain of Bellinzona.

Castelgrande, Montebello and Sasso Corbaro were constructed to control the route from the valley of the Ticino river, access to Alpine passes and commercial traffic from and to the San Gotthard pass. Following recent reconstruction, restoration and improvement, it can now be seen in its full splendour and is the main tourist attraction in the city.
